Position Overview:

  • Responsible for managing services directed towards youth, including children and teenagers, as well as their guardians.
  • Delivers readers' advisory and informational services tailored for young audiences.
  • Curates and promotes the branch's collections focused on youth literature.
  • Designs and executes engaging programs for children and teens.
  • Provides exceptional customer service, engages in community outreach, and oversees staff performance.
  • Administers circulation services and ensures effective building management.

Compensation: $59,238.40 annually

Work Schedule: Full-time with a flexible schedule that includes weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages circulation services tailored for youth.
  • Delivers customer service with a focus on young patrons.
  • Supervises Youth Specialists and volunteers to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Handles building supervision and performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Library Science with a valid Georgia Certificate of Librarianship.
  • Experience in public library settings with a focus on youth programming.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or leadership abilities and a comprehensive knowledge base.
  • Proficient in computer applications and possess strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in library reference services and innovative technological environments.
  • Over two years of experience in a public library context.
