Head of Residential Programs

The Head of Residential Programs oversees the operations of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, ensuring the effective delivery of services across the three residential facilities in Florida. This role is pivotal in guiding program staff in the development, management, and coordination of residential services.
The Head of Residential Programs reports directly to the Vice President of Programs.
This is an exempt position, not eligible for overtime compensation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities are indicative of the various tasks performed in this role. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Oversees and advises on the administration and management of residential services and facilities.
- Recruits, trains, and supervises Program Directors, Campus Life Director, and Clinical Director; evaluates performance, addresses disciplinary issues, and resolves conflicts.
- Conducts risk management training for new hires across all residential programs, and provides additional training as required by regulatory bodies.
- Collaborates with the Vice President of Programs and staff to ensure compliance with licensing, accreditation, contracts, and other regulatory standards.
- Facilitates relationships between programs and external services as needed.
- Assists in the development of new programs or significant modifications to existing services in partnership with program staff.
- Maintains relationships with District/Regional DCF, DJJ, Medicaid, and other relevant agencies.
- Works with the Quality Improvement Director to develop policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Provides guidance on budget management and revenue-generating activities to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Ensures that all clinical and non-clinical documentation is monitored and completed in a timely manner.
- Supports Donor Relations staff to ensure stakeholders are engaged and valued.
- Identifies and addresses problem areas and manages special projects as assigned by the Executive Vice President.
- Builds relationships with consulting psychiatrists to ensure high-quality service delivery.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A Master's degree in a human services discipline from an accredited institution is required. A minimum of seven years of experience in a social service environment, including at least five years in a leadership or supervisory role, is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in managing multi-service, multi-site organizations with residential components.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is a full-time position with an annual salary of $60,000. Benefits include:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, and complex regulations.
- Proficient in writing reports, proposals, and policy documents.
- Basic understanding of technology in human services, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Willingness to travel as necessary for the role.
- Capability to train staff at all levels on policies and procedures.
- Creative and entrepreneurial mindset with respect for agency history.
- Ability to represent the agency positively in various settings.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands of this position include regular standing, walking, sitting, talking, and reaching. The employee may occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision.
