Position Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is on the lookout for a Senior Engineer who will leverage their leadership and engineering expertise to undertake design responsibilities and oversee support personnel. The design responsibilities will encompass grading and drainage designs pertinent to development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze municipal zoning and land development regulations to identify property development constraints.
- Conduct site investigations and due diligence, including ordinance reviews, utility service assessments, and site visits to establish thorough development guidelines.
- Create Concept Drawings aligned with client development goals and findings from due diligence, coordinating with AutoCAD draftsmen.
- Assume a leadership role in the design and review of Stormwater Management and Conveyance Systems, utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology design software.
- Perform calculations for stormwater conveyance systems, including drainage area maps, surface runoff coefficients, and hydraulic evaluations using established methods.
- Ensure compliance with stormwater management design regulations at the county and municipal levels in New York.
- Conduct grading design to achieve value engineering through earthwork analysis while ensuring site safety with appropriate design slopes.
- Design utility systems, including stormwater conveyance, sanitary sewer services, pump stations, and other essential services.
- Develop Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Designs, incorporating stability calculations and Best Management Practices.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 8-12 years of experience in residential and/or commercial civil land development.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Familiarity with local municipal, county, and state land use, planning, and zoning regulations in New York.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and related site development designs.
- Demonstrated expertise in Civil 3D with the capability to design site layouts from concept to completion.
- Self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively with team members.
