Job Summary:

The Healthcare Customer Service Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing essential tasks related to daily clinic operations. This includes patient identification, check-in procedures, processing charges, managing cash flow, and scheduling appointments. The role requires a commitment to delivering excellent service and addressing patient needs effectively.


Educational Qualifications:

An Associate's Degree in a related field is preferred, or a minimum of three years of experience in a customer service or office environment may be considered as an equivalent qualification.


Certification Requirements:

Completion of a medical terminology course is required within the first year of employment.


Experience Requirements:

Prior experience in a public-facing role, along with basic computer proficiency and familiarity with office equipment such as fax machines and copiers, is essential.


Skills and Competencies:

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication abilities, maintain confidentiality, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic work environment. The ability to prioritize effectively and remain composed under pressure is crucial.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate daily clinic operations including patient check-in/out, charge posting, and appointment scheduling.
2. Manage incoming patient inquiries and requests with professionalism.
3. Ensure accurate communication of medical information between patients and healthcare providers.
4. Maintain proficiency in insurance coverage and eligibility requirements.
5. Complete necessary training and maintain competencies related to insurance processes.
