Starting pay for this position is $18.07/hour.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Culinary Specialist is responsible for the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals within designated timeframes for both patient and retail services. This role involves adhering to safe food handling practices and accurately processing customer orders while accommodating specific dietary requirements and preferences.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:
A minimum of 6 months in a healthcare or restaurant setting.

Licensure/Certification:
Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification (or to be obtained within 1 year of hire).

Individuals hired into the Culinary Specialist role at OSF HealthCare prior to the specified date are exempt from this requirement.

FSSC-Food Service and Sanitation Certification

Other license/certifications:
At specific locations, Culinary Specialists are required to have a Food Handler Certification within 30 days of employment.

Other skills/knowledge:
Basic mathematical skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions are essential. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changes in schedules, tasks, and work settings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
High School Diploma or GED; Culinary Degree preferred.

Experience:
At least 2 years of experience as a cook in a healthcare environment.
