Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and driven individual to assume the role of Inventory Growth Reservoir Engineer within our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM) division, specifically in the Delaware Basin Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pinpoint and assess enhancement opportunities within the Permian Resources and Delaware portfolio.
  • Analyze trades, sales, and development scenarios while calculating the related economics, reserves, and potential production risks.
  • Work closely with the Appraisal, Development, Geology, and Well Analysis and Design teams to gauge resource potential in various assets.
  • Support the evaluation of acreage trades, sales, and acquisitions to optimize OXY's ownership stakes.
  • Conduct economic assessments of non-operated projects.
  • Monitor competitor activities, development strategies, and technical approaches concerning Delaware Basin assets.
  • Identify prospects for data trades and well trials to enhance subsurface comprehension and boost project economics.
Qualifications:

Educational Background:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering

Professional Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

  • Experience in the Permian Basin, Texas is preferred.

  • Familiarity with various land and lease requirements.
  • Understanding of standard oil and gas deal structures.
  • Strong grasp of economic principles, drivers, and business insights.
  • Exceptional integration, communication, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Knowledge of unconventional reservoir engineering processes.
  • Basic understanding of reserves booking in unconventional reservoirs.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take risks.
  • Adept at multitasking and problem-solving, with the ability to analyze and propose solutions for projects with varying degrees of uncertainty.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, other departments, and stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge of well construction and surface facilities.
  • Familiarity with artificial lift systems and operations.
