Job Overview

The Fleet Department is essential to our operations, ensuring that all company-owned and rental machinery is maintained in optimal working condition. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic plays a vital role in this process, focusing on delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance for our equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments to accurately identify parts and repair needs for heavy machinery.
  • Perform repairs in both field and shop environments as required.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks on heavy equipment, both in the field and in the shop.
  • Collaborate with the Shop Supervisor to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the service truck.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including work orders, parts requests, and inspection logs.
  • Adhere to safety protocols at all times, following company and vendor guidelines.
  • Uphold all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed to support business operations.
Qualifications
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, air tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic software.
  • Possess or be able to acquire the necessary tools to perform assigned tasks.
  • Exhibit a strong attention to detail.
  • Have a foundational understanding of heavy machinery operations and repair methods.
  • Demonstrate strong diagnostic abilities.
  • Experience with diagnostic software for heavy equipment is highly desirable.
  • Maintain professionalism in all work interactions.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Exhibit regular and punctual attendance.
  • Be flexible with work schedules, including shifts and on-call duties.
  • Provide proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
