Position Highlights:

As a Heavy Equipment Technician at Barnsco, Inc., you will engage in a variety of responsibilities that ensure our machinery operates efficiently and our clients are satisfied. From identifying and fixing issues in medium and heavy-duty equipment to executing essential road service and urgent repairs, each day will present new challenges. You will collaborate closely with our Equipment Service Manager, guaranteeing that every task is completed accurately and every client is pleased.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Problem Identification: Examine and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical challenges with forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other machinery.
  • Hands-On Maintenance: Disassemble, clean, repair, reinstall, and adjust vehicle components, including engines and fuel systems.
  • Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance activities such as oil changes and safety inspections to maintain our equipment in optimal condition.
  • Client Interaction: Support clients with their equipment requirements, offering expert guidance and prompt solutions.
  • Collaborative Team Member: Assist in training new staff and maintain effective communication with our Equipment Service Manager.
  • Documentation & Estimates: Prepare repair estimates and complete necessary paperwork accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications We Seek:

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in reading schematics, troubleshooting with computer assistance, and possessing a strong grasp of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience: At least two years of practical experience in construction rental or equipment maintenance.
  • Physical Requirements: Capability to lift up to 75 pounds, utilize tools effectively, and operate various types of machinery.
  • Educational Background: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Licensing: A valid and current driver's license is mandatory.
