Role Purpose: This position, reporting to the Associate Director of Compliance and Processing, is essential for overseeing the preparation, processing, reconciliation, reporting, and maintenance of financial documentation related to federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining the accuracy of financial records associated with various aid programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fiscal Operations Management:
    • Collaborate with the Associate Director to manage the fiscal operations of financial aid programs.
    • Oversee budgeting, monitoring, reconciling, and reporting of financial aid funds.
    • Prepare and submit financial aid reports, including FISAP.
    • Coordinate the oversight and drawdown of federal funds, ensuring reconciliation between systems.
    • Assist in the reconciliation process for the Direct Loan Program.
    • Lead responses to audit findings and serve as the department expert on account drawdown matters.
  • Internal Fiscal Audits:
    • Conduct internal audits and provide recommendations on fiscal issues.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding financial aid matters.
    • Analyze financial aid data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Present findings to management to aid in strategic decision-making.
  • Operational Support and Training:
    • Support operations staff in resolving processing errors.
    • Train staff on issues and resolutions.
    • Compile and submit reports and analyses as needed.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

  • Interpersonal: Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail in financial documentation.
