SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Autism Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing individualized support to children with autism and related challenges, either in their homes or in a clinical setting. It is essential for candidates to demonstrate professionalism and the ability to follow established protocols. During the initial training period, staff members are required to complete all necessary training modules, pass the competency assessment, and obtain the RBT certification. Post-training, staff will be expected to deliver 28 billable hours within a standard 40-hour work week, which may include both in-home and clinic-based sessions. Additional responsibilities include data entry, paperwork management, organization, and participation in supervision and training sessions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute daily therapeutic interventions under the guidance of a Behavior Analyst.

• Implement Individualized Service Plans in collaboration with clients and their families, as directed by a Behavior Analyst.

• Successfully complete the RBT certification process.

• Collaborate with other professionals involved in the care of clients to ensure a cohesive approach.

• Accurately document all required information, including behavioral data, daily notes, and billing records, in a timely manner.

• Ensure compliance with Medicaid and other regulatory requirements in all documentation.

• Create and prepare program materials to be utilized during client sessions.

• Engage in weekly supervision meetings with a Behavior Analyst or Assistant Behavior Analyst to review client progress and address any concerns.

• Attend and actively participate in all scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.

• Provide transportation for clients as necessary during natural environment sessions.

• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, completing additional tasks as needed for effective program operation.

• Maintain high standards of professionalism and ethics at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field preferred, or
  • High School Diploma or GED with eligibility to take the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) exam.
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities or autism, is preferred.
  • Ability to assist with toilet training for children.
  • Willingness to learn if no prior ABA experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Access to a reliable personal cell phone.
