Residential Support Specialist - Backup Role

At Dominion Care, our Residential Support Specialists play a crucial role in assisting our Residential Contractors in empowering individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Our mission is to help these individuals reach their fullest potential by equipping them with essential skills to thrive within the community.

This program is designed to create a personalized living environment tailored to each individual's unique needs, ensuring long-term success. We focus on matching individuals with suitable home settings that promote independence and access to vital resources. As a Backup Provider, your responsibilities will include aiding individuals in enhancing their life skills, achieving personal aspirations, and fostering independence.

The Residential Support Specialist - Backup Role is responsible for assisting Residential Providers in delivering services to individuals residing in licensed residential homes while adhering to all regulatory standards.

Compensation Structure

Compensation is determined through contractual agreements with the primary residential provider. Dominion Care does not issue direct payments to subcontracted or backup residential support providers.

Are You the Right Fit?

We are in search of dedicated professionals with experience in supporting individuals diagnosed with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Our ideal candidates will possess:

  • A genuine passion for helping others achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives.
  • Proficiency in computer usage and documentation completion.
  • A minimum of one year of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities (temporary positions may be available in other programs to gain this experience if necessary).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • One year of direct support experience for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Strong writing skills and computer proficiency are essential.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check is mandatory.
  • A clean driving record and access to a reliable, safe vehicle are required.
  • Successful completion of a thorough environmental inspection is necessary.
