Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Behavioral Health Technician plays a crucial role in providing individualized support to children with autism and related conditions, working primarily in their home or clinical settings. Adherence to instructions and maintaining a professional attitude is essential for success in this role. During the initial training period, which lasts four weeks, staff members are required to complete all necessary training modules, pass a competency evaluation, and successfully take the RBT certification exam. After this training phase, employees are expected to log 28 billable hours within a standard 40-hour work week, which may include both clinic and home-based sessions. Additional responsibilities include indirect tasks such as data entry, paperwork updates, organization, and participation in supervision and training sessions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute daily therapeutic interventions under the direct oversight of a Behavior Analyst.
  • Implement Individualized Service Plans for clients and their families as directed by a Behavior Analyst.
  • Achieve and maintain RBT certification.
  • Collaborate with other service providers to ensure consistent support for clients and their families.
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation, including behavioral data, daily logs, and billing records, in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicaid and other relevant federal, state, or BACB regulations in all client documentation.
  • Develop and prepare program materials to be utilized during client sessions.
  • Engage in weekly supervision meetings with a Behavior Analyst or Assistant Behavior Analyst to review client progress and address any concerns.
  • Attend and actively participate in all scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Provide transportation for clients as needed during natural environment sessions.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures while completing additional tasks as required for effective program operation.
  • Uphold professional and ethical standards at all times.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be eligible to take the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) exam.
  • Possession of a valid Virginia Driver's License.
  • Access to a reliable personal cell phone.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field OR
  • High School Diploma OR
  • GED
