Purpose and Scope

As a Dialysis Program Manager Registered Nurse at Fresenius Medical Center, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our Home Therapies program. This includes overseeing the growth and development of the program, working closely with Business Unit management, in-center staff, and other support functions to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and effective oversight, support, training, and scheduling of home dialysis therapies to patients in compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Manage profit and loss of the assigned program, ensuring optimal performance and achievement of budgets and key performance indicators.
  • Direct and manage all aspects of patient care for Home Therapies patients from admission through discharge.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and support to staff members to ensure the safe and effective delivery of home therapy support care to patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD).
  • Oversee patient and caregiver readiness and ability to perform dialysis treatments at home, assessing the environment for suitability and training patients and caregivers on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Manage patient experience efforts, supporting company patient satisfaction initiatives and embodying company values and patient experience drivers.
  • Ensure competency of staff in the operation of home dialysis therapy-related equipment, including troubleshooting and maintaining appropriate licensures and certifications.
  • Manage program supplies, equipment tracking, and ensure timely replenishment of orders.
  • Direct data entry activities, including patient admission, regulatory reporting, billing, and treatment-related data.
  • Ensure regulatory, compliance, and audit activities are accomplished on time.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (R.N.) with current state licensure.
  • Minimum of one year dialysis experience with three months peritoneal experience required, one year medical-surgical nursing or ICU experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of dialysis therapies.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including communication, customer service, performance management, and continuous quality improvement.
