Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a key member of our hemodialysis healthcare team, you will provide safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines
- Support the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment
- Collaborate with healthcare members to provide patient-specific education on dialysis treatment and vascular access
- Perform vascular access evaluation, cannulation, and administration of heparin as delegated
- Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy and report any unusual findings to the nurse supervisor
- Document patient treatment information and vital signs accurately and in a timely manner
- Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification or High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred
- Successful completion of the FMCNA dialysis training program and CPR certification
