About the Role:
The American Red Cross is seeking a skilled Blood Collection Specialist - Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our blood collection team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our blood donation programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with our team to transport and set up equipment at blood donation sites in local communities.
- Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors, ensuring their safety and satisfaction.
- Follow all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations that are delivered to hospitals.
- Utilize your healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
- A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required.
- DOT certification may be required in some locations. If required, must pass applicable DOT physical and related requirements and be able to possess or obtain a medical certification of at least one-year duration.
- Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes is required.
What We Offer:
- A competitive starting rate of $20.00 per hour, with opportunities for pay increases based on experience.
- A sign-on bonus of $2,500, paid in two installments of $1,000 and $1,500 at one and 18 months, respectively.

- 15 days of paid time off per year, plus 11 paid holidays, including six core holidays and five floating holidays.
