The Phlebotomy Procedural Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering training to phlebotomy staff across the Bozeman Health system. This role involves performing and troubleshooting phlebotomy procedures, as well as maintaining qualified staffing levels.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement phlebotomy training programs for new hires and existing staff
- Provide education and training on phlebotomy techniques to Bozeman Health employees
- Participate in quality management of phlebotomy services
- Update and maintain phlebotomy policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Perform phlebotomy services, including collecting blood specimens and performing EKGs
- Associate's degree in science or related field
- Two years of related laboratory/phlebotomy experience
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Customer service experience in a healthcare or retail setting
- Driver's license
- Bachelor's degree in MT, CLS, or Laboratory Science
- ASCP or equivalent Phlebotomy Certification
- Urine Drug Screen Collection Certification (DOT) and Breath Alcohol Testing Certification (DOT)
This role may involve working in a fast-paced environment, with exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, and various chemicals and medications. The ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and after-hours, is required.
