Inpatient Phlebotomy Specialist

Job Summary:
The Inpatient Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting and preparing blood samples for laboratory analysis in the acute care setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be able to work independently, and have the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and prepare blood samples for laboratory analysis
- Verify patient information and ensure accurate specimen labeling
- Perform venipuncture and other collection techniques as needed
- Respond to codes and traumas as assigned
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Urine Drug Screen Collection Certification and Breath Alcohol Testing Certification within 3 months
- American Heart Association BLS certification within 6 months
- Previous healthcare experience as a Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant, or Patient Care Tech
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASCP or equivalent Phlebotomy Certification
- Associate Degree in Science Related Field
- 6 months phlebotomy experience in an acute care setting
Working Conditions:
The Inpatient Phlebotomist will work in a fast-paced acute care setting and will be required to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. On-call work may be required.
