Our client is seeking a skilled Human Resources Business Consultant to join their HR team. This role is designed for an individual with substantial experience in the field.
Position DetailsThis position is a long-term temporary contract that offers competitive hourly compensation based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain relationships with designated business units while collaborating with various departments to effectively address HR needs and challenges.
- Serve as a resource for business units in understanding and applying Human Resources policies. Communicate updates and changes to policies and recommend innovative approaches to enhance HR efficiency.
- Collaborate with Labor and Employee Relations teams and legal counsel to prepare for negotiations.
- Act as a subject matter expert for assigned business units, providing clear guidance on collective bargaining agreements, compensation, benefits, and performance evaluations.
- Address union-specific inquiries related to payroll, invoicing, reporting, audits, and contract negotiations. Ensure that union databases accurately reflect employee roster changes monthly and oversee the reconciliation of union invoices.
- Partner with legal counsel to conduct thorough investigations and identify fair resolutions to employee grievances. Offer management guidance on employee counseling and documentation.
- Enhance performance for managers and employees by identifying opportunities for improvement, evaluating potential solutions, and assisting with implementation.
- Ensure compliance of personnel records with company, state, and federal regulations. Provide timely responses to unemployment claims and coordinate participation in hearings as necessary.
- Support business units in the employee review process, including compensation and performance rating submissions.
- Assist in the coordination and facilitation of HR-related training programs for managers and employees.
- Engage in special projects as required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or PHR certification is preferred.
