Airport Operations Crew

Position Overview:

The Airport Operations Crew is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to travelers within the airport environment. This role involves verifying customer identification, managing luggage, facilitating flight reservations, and assisting with the boarding and deplaning processes. Crew members also prepare the aircraft cabin for departure, coordinate with other departments, and address any special requests from customers. Proficiency in public speaking, computer usage, and airport equipment operation is essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver outstanding customer service experiences Manage the check-in process for passengers using computer systems Confirm customer identification for security purposes Handle, tag, and transport passenger luggage Announce flight information and updates via the public address system Maintain clear communication with customers to keep them informed Promote additional services to enhance customer experience Collaborate with team members and other departments for efficient operations Prepare the aircraft cabin for boarding, including light cleaning tasks Operate airport equipment, such as jet bridges and airstairs Assist passengers with special needs, ensuring a smooth boarding process Rotate through various operational roles as required (gate, ticket counter, etc.) Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum age of eighteen (18) years At least one (1) year of experience in customer service or sales Strong interpersonal and communication skills Fluent in English, both written and spoken Successful completion of an assessment evaluating adaptability, customer service, and safety orientation Compliance with JetBlue's Uniform Policy Manual Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays Proficient in using computers and basic office software Ability to use communication devices such as radios and microphones Must obtain and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge Experience working under pressure and meeting deadlines Depending on location, a valid Driver License may be required Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds frequently Willingness to travel overnight as needed Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening Legal eligibility to work in the designated country is required

Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) years of experience in customer service or sales Knowledge of customer service best practices Experience handling various payment methods Previous experience in the airline industry Bilingual capabilities are a plus

Work Environment:

Fast-paced airport setting Exposure to varying weather conditions and noise levels Ability to stand for extended periods May require mandatory overtime during irregular operations

Physical Requirements:

Moderate physical activity, including lifting up to fifty (50) pounds frequently
