Airport Operations Crew

Position Overview:

The Airport Operations Crew is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to travelers within the airport environment. Team members are responsible for verifying passenger identification, managing luggage, processing flight reservations, and facilitating the boarding and deplaning processes. Additionally, they assist with preparing the aircraft cabin for departure and cater to passengers with special requirements. Proficiency in public speaking, computer usage, and airport operational tools is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to all passengers
  • Manage the check-in process utilizing computer systems
  • Confirm passenger identification
  • Handle and manage passenger luggage
  • Announce flight information, including arrivals and departures, through the public address system
  • Maintain clear communication with passengers to keep them informed
  • Promote additional services to enhance customer experience
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to ensure seamless customer service
  • Prepare the aircraft cabin for boarding, including light cleaning tasks
  • Operate airport equipment, such as boarding bridges and airstairs
  • Provide assistance to passengers with special needs
  • Rotate through various airport operations functions as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of eighteen (18) years
  • One (1) year of experience in customer service or sales
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Successful completion of an assessment evaluating adaptability, customer service, and safety orientation
  • Adherence to uniform policy standards
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Proficient in using computers and basic office applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively using handheld radios and microphones
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
  • Experience in high-pressure environments with strict time constraints
  • Valid Driver License may be required depending on location
  • Ability to lift objects up to fifty (50) pounds regularly
  • Availability for occasional overnight travel
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening
  • Legal eligibility to work in the country of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience in customer service or sales
  • Knowledge of customer service best practices
  • Experience with various payment methods
  • Previous experience in the airline industry
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus
