Airport Operations Crew

Position Overview:

The Airport Operations Crew is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service within the airport environment. Team members are responsible for verifying passenger identification, managing luggage, facilitating flight bookings, and assisting with both arrivals and departures. They play a crucial role in preparing the aircraft for departure, coordinating passenger boarding and deplaning, and providing support to customers with special requirements. Proficiency in public speaking, computer usage, and airport machinery is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver outstanding customer service to all passengers Execute the check-in process using computer systems Confirm passengers' identification details Manage, lift, and transport passenger luggage Announce flight information, including arrivals and departures, through the public address system Maintain effective communication with customers to keep them informed Promote additional services to enhance customer experience Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to ensure seamless customer handling Prepare the aircraft cabin for boarding, including light cleaning tasks Operate airport equipment, such as jet bridges and airstairs Assist passengers with special needs, ensuring a smooth boarding process Participate in all airport operations functions as required Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum age of eighteen (18) years At least one (1) year of experience in customer service or sales Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficient in English, both written and spoken Completion of an assessment evaluating key job characteristics such as Adaptability and Customer Service Adherence to company uniform standards Availability for variable hours, including weekends and holidays Familiarity with basic computer operations and office software Capability to use communication devices effectively Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge Experience working under pressure and meeting deadlines Valid Driver License may be required based on location Ability to lift and handle weights up to fifty (50) pounds regularly Willingness to travel overnight as needed Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening Legal eligibility to work in the designated country is mandatory

Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) years of experience in customer service or sales Knowledge of customer service principles and practices Experience with various payment methods Previous experience in the airline industry Bilingual capabilities are a plus

Consistent attendance and punctuality Flexibility to work varied hours, including holidays and overnight shifts Willingness to travel for training or temporary assignments Maintain a professional appearance at all times Assist with light cleaning of aircraft when necessary Align with JetBlue's core values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun Act as a Safety Ambassador, supporting safety initiatives and reporting concerns Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies Understand and contribute to safety performance metrics

Work Environment:

Fast-paced airport setting Exposure to varying weather conditions and noise levels Ability to stand for extended periods Potential for mandatory overtime during irregular operations

Physical Requirements:

Moderate physical activity, including lifting and handling heavy objects with assistance as needed.
