Role Summary

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Communications & Brand, the Vice President of Strategic Communications is a visionary leader and narrative architect responsible for crafting and implementing strategic communication initiatives. This role will spearhead the formulation and execution of comprehensive communication strategies aimed at enhancing our brand's visibility among key stakeholders, collaborating closely with business unit leaders and the marketing/communications teams to realize established communication objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic design, execution, and oversight of integrated communication strategies targeting diverse stakeholders, including passengers, employees, media, board members, NGOs, customers, investors, and community partners.
  • Develop thought leadership platforms for the Executive Leadership Team and oversee the creation of all communication materials across various formats, including digital, print, and broadcast.
  • Manage the internal communication strategy to ensure timely and effective dissemination of company priorities and initiatives, fostering employee engagement.
  • Collaborate and innovate to deliver strategic communication solutions that yield measurable results.
  • Direct the ACAA Speakers Bureau, assessing opportunities and preparing speakers for events that enhance ACAA's reputation and objectives.
  • Oversee Blue Sky News, a premier storytelling platform that provides news services for Pittsburgh International and Allegheny County airports, managing content development for both internal and external audiences.
  • Align communication planning and execution to maximize impact and support organizational priorities.
  • Establish scalable processes to extend brand identity across all customer interactions.
  • Implement continuous feedback mechanisms and develop metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of internal communication efforts.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Vice President of Strategic Communications position, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, English, Communications, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of ten years of relevant experience in communications, including strategic leadership, with at least five years in a managerial role.
  • Familiarity with recognized change management communication methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A valid driver's license is required prior to employment.
