About the Role

The City of New York's Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is seeking a highly skilled Intake Specialist to join its team. As an Intake Specialist, you will play a critical role in answering consumer hotline calls and processing complaints in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with consumers and businesses to resolve complaints and provide information on consumer-related matters.
  • Analyze and document consumer complaints, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide reports as needed to support the Agency's mission.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to consumer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless communication and effective complaint resolution.
Requirements
  • Four-year high school diploma or equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization.
  • One year of satisfactory clerical experience, with a strong focus on customer service and communication.
  • Excellent keyboard skills, with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
