About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Inspection Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. As a key member of our Transportation Team, you will be responsible for conducting bridge inspections, evaluating bridge conditions, and providing recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct bridge inspections in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and the AASHTO Manual for Condition Evaluation of Bridges.
  • Evaluate bridge conditions, identify potential issues, and provide recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement.
  • Assist the region's bridge inspection director in pursuing work with DOTs and local jurisdictions.
  • Plan, schedule, and perform bridge inspections in accordance with specific Bridge Owners' requirements.
  • Liaison with client field/facility staff, lead/assist with communicating critical condition findings.
  • Direct other field team members, enforce safe operations, and ensure technical compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • 12+ years of experience in bridge inspection (CEI or NBIS).
  • Team Leader (qualified) in southeastern states.
  • NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course.
  • NBIS Bridge Scour and Analysis Training.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership, attention to detail, and prioritization of responsibilities.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented structure, supervise, train, and direct team members.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50%.
