About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Inspection Engineer to join our team at WSP. As a key member of our Transportation Team, you will be responsible for performing independent evaluations of bridge conditions, functions, and load-carrying capacities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough bridge inspections in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and the AASHTO Manual for Condition Evaluation of Bridges.
  • Develop and implement repair and rehabilitation plans for bridges, working closely with bridge owners and stakeholders.
  • Assist in business development and winning bridge inspection and repair work in DC, MD, and VA.
  • Liaise with client field/facility staff and communicate critical condition findings.
  • Direct and supervise field team members, ensuring safe operations and adherence to company policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in bridge inspection, with a strong background in CEI or NBIS.
  • Team Leader certification in southeastern states.
  • NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course and NBIS Bridge Scour and Analysis Training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
