Event Services Supervisor

Position Overview: This role is responsible for managing all aspects of banquet operations, including coffee breaks, buffet services, plated meals, and reception events, ensuring the highest standards of food and beverage service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee catered events accommodating a significant number of guests.
  • Train and mentor all banquet service staff and support personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with each Banquet Event Order (BEO) for seamless service delivery.
  • Collaborate with event planners to meet all client requirements effectively.
  • Conduct pre-event briefings to align the team on service expectations.
  • Prepare detailed task lists for room setups, including station diagrams and side work assignments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and perform annual maintenance on all banquet equipment.
  • Achieve and sustain a Health Department score of 90 or above.
  • Exhibit creativity in designing buffet and coffee break presentations.
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and consistency in service quality.
  • Engage directly with clients during events to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records, including attendance, function reports, and staff evaluations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Banquet Manager.

Supervisory Duties:

Supervise part-time banquet staff as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a banquet setting, serving large-scale events.
  • ServSafe certification (Food Handler, Allergen, and Alcohol training) must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Creativity in buffet presentation and commitment to quality service.
  • Strong attention to detail and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and early mornings.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to collaborate with team members.
  • Advanced oral and written communication capabilities.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs consistently.

Computer Proficiency:

Intermediate skills in computer applications, particularly MS Excel.
