Job Title: Project Accountant

Chesapeake Search Partners is seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our Accounting & Finance Practice, you will play a crucial role in supporting multiple construction projects and ensuring their financial success.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up new projects in Sage and Procore, ensuring accurate contract execution.
  • Process job-related cost invoices and ensure correct cost coding.
  • Post journal entries and job cost transactions as needed, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Oversee vendor compliance, including COI updates and credit application documents.
  • Post weekly intercompany cost transactions and reconcile accounts.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to prepare and distribute monthly project billings.
  • Review underbilled projects and discuss with the project team to maximize revenue.

Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as an accountant or bookkeeper.
  • Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
