Accountant

Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing inventory management and full cycle accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure financial statements accurately reflect inventory balance, obsolescence reserve, warranty reserve, and cost of goods sold.
  • Work with the Product Operations team to perform monthly inventory reconciliation, ensuring all receiving and shipping transactions are accurately reflected in financial statements and allocated to correct projects.
  • Lead quarterly physical counts of inventory, documenting and researching discrepancies.
  • Conduct three-way matches for all supplier invoices, ensuring integrity between invoice, purchase order, and receiving report.
  • Prepare cost of goods sold journal entries for month-end close.
  • Ensure all supplier invoices are recorded in a timely manner.
  • Perform full spectrum accounting cycles, assisting with month, quarterly, and annual close.
  • Provide outside auditors with assistance, gathering necessary account information and documents for semi-annual and annual audits.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to GAAP.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced small team environment, meeting required deadlines and performing all necessary tasks.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Experience with Government contracting.
  • US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Unanet and FlowTrac.
  • 5 years of experience in Accounting and Finance.

This role has an internal job title of Staff Accountant II or III with a general base salary range of $58k to $80k. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to the anticipated salary, one will have the opportunity to qualify for bonuses.
