Assistant Vice President - API Product Management

The API Product Manager is instrumental in directing the vision and strategic roadmap for APIs considered as products for both internal stakeholders and external clients. This role requires a deep understanding of the needs of API users and the ability to prioritize improvements to the API Management platform. This position offers a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement, with expectations based on proximity to our office locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and development teams to identify which APIs should be regarded as products.
  • Foster strong relationships with API users to collect valuable feedback and insights.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for the API product informed by user input.
  • Establish and track business KPIs to assess the effectiveness of the API product.
  • Ensure that compliance and security standards are upheld for all APIs.
  • Articulate the business value of the API product to various stakeholders.
  • Encourage the adoption of the API product among development teams.
  • Provide assistance and resources to API users for optimal product utilization.
  • Oversee API documentation and specifications.
  • Investigate emerging API trends and pinpoint opportunities for monetization.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in developing, launching, or utilizing APIs.
  • In-depth knowledge of API technologies, including REST, GraphQL, and event-driven APIs.
  • Exceptional collaboration and project management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required, along with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this position is between $176,000 and $264,000, with additional rewards and incentives available.
