Job Title: Recovery Support Specialist

We're seeking a compassionate and experienced Recovery Support Specialist to join our team at Connections Health Solutions. As a key member of our crisis response team, you will provide individuals with the natural supports proven instrumental in maintaining a strong and successful recovery.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to individuals in crisis, promoting a strong and successful recovery.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple disciplines to meet individual's treatment and recovery needs.
  • Act as an active facilitator in groups and individual recovery, serving as an individual advocate and support resource throughout the treatment process.
  • Document all encounters with individuals in the electronic health record.
  • Encourage and support from a place of experience and understanding, willing to use appropriate self-disclosure.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Peer Support Specialist certification.
  • At least 2 years' experience providing behavioral health services to adults over the age of 18, individuals with substance abuse, individuals who are seriously mentally ill, individuals who have co-occurring disorder, and/or individuals who may be victims or perpetrators of domestic violence.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Behavioral Health/Substance Use Treatment or GMH Recovery experience.
  • Completion of specialized peer certifications (WHAM, ASIST, etc.).
  • Knowledge of evidence-based/person-centered skillsets, such as Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, Verbal De-escalation, Harm Reduction, and Person-centered language.
