Medical Services Program Specialist

Join the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services as a highly skilled Medical Services Program Specialist. As a key member of the Medical Services team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Associate Director in the coordination of their work.
Key Responsibilities:- Serve as program specialist lead for the Medical Services team, providing technical assistance and guidance to program staff and external partners.
- Coordinate all CPS responsibilities related to the managed care/medical initiative: STAR Health, including initial medical screening, Texas Health Steps requirements, medical consent, and psychotropic medication.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with program policies and procedures, statutes, and rules.
- Provide high-level advice and counsel to internal and external stakeholders, interpreting policies and procedures to inform decision-making.
- Represent CPS on workgroups and sub-workgroups for all aspects of the STAR Health service coordination model.
- High-level technical expertise in medical services and program management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex data and develop recommendations for program improvement.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
