As a Customer Service Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Professionally and enthusiastically managing incoming calls and electronic inquiries from patients and their families, ensuring a smooth registration process for new patients and scheduling healthcare appointments.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely registration of new patients to optimize service delivery and facilitate financial reimbursement.
  • Identifying and addressing discrepancies or missing information, while accurately entering data into the electronic medical record system.
  • Verifying insurance coverage and determining patient self-pay responsibilities, providing necessary cost information, and scheduling appointments with financial counselors when appropriate.
  • Coordinating healthcare appointments based on patient needs and requests, adhering to system and clinic guidelines.
  • Communicating essential appointment details and preparation requirements to ensure timely arrival and optimal reimbursement.
  • Drafting clerical and clinical messages from patients and healthcare professionals to administrative and provider staff, identifying urgent patient situations for immediate attention.
  • Calming distressed callers with a composed and professional demeanor, while effectively escalating priority issues for resolution.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a call center environment, with knowledge of medical terminology being advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $15 - $17 per hour, based on various factors including education, experience, and specific job duties.
