We are a leading provider of plasma-based therapies, and we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors and employees.
Key Responsibilities- Donor Eligibility
- Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, taking into account medical history, laboratory test results, and other relevant factors.
- Manage donor deferrals and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
- Medical Support
- Provide medical support to donors and employees, including administering first aid and responding to medical emergencies.
- Collaborate with the Center Physician and other medical staff to ensure the highest level of care for our donors and employees.
- Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS)
- Support the EHS program by conducting pre-placement evaluations of new hires, maintaining employee medical records, and administering first aid as needed.
- Assist in training employees on EHS procedures and protocols.
- Education and Experience
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where duties will be assigned: Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN or LVN)
- Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred
- Skills and Abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills
