Job Overview

Position Summary:

  • Support the facilities manager in maintaining the integrity, functionality, and safety of all facility systems by organizing and executing daily and weekly preventive maintenance tasks in line with maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance manager to oversee contracted mechanical maintenance services.
  • Ensure compliance with specified outcomes and work orders to reduce future operational issues by monitoring (spot checking) the quality of work performed and informing the maintenance manager of any discrepancies in contracted services.
  • Guarantee the effective operation of machinery, PLCs, and mechanical systems by fulfilling preventive maintenance obligations on motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and production machinery.
  • Adhere to operational diagrams, manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and repair plant systems and PLCs in accordance with established procedures.
  • Conduct necessary preventive maintenance on PLCs, including lubrication, cleaning, and filter replacements as per standard operating procedures.
  • Follow safety protocols, GMP, HACCP, and all other relevant company policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate communication among all support team members by adhering to proper escalation protocols.
  • Perform start-up inspections, including an assessment of the interior of the filler bowl prior to sanitation.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in mechanical troubleshooting of production equipment, including but not limited to conveyors, gearboxes, and motors.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
