Position Overview:
The Mechanical Equipment Technician will be responsible for overseeing the performance and upkeep of production machinery.
Maintenance & Service Responsibilities:
- Monitor mechanical systems in operation and listen for anomalies to identify issues.
- Dismantle equipment to access and replace faulty components.
- Perform servicing on machinery and other assigned items.
- Replace or repair defective parts as necessary.
- Install specialized functional and structural components in machinery.
- Maintain a detailed log of ongoing maintenance tasks.
- Set up and operate tools and equipment for manufacturing and repairs.
- Utilize and interpret readings from volt meters, computers, and measuring devices.
- Be available for overtime and weekend work as required.
- Lubricate moving parts to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Document and report any damaged, worn, or broken components.
- Order and install replacement parts for machinery.
- Diagnose causes of unexpected machinery breakdowns.
- Effectively repair malfunctioning machines in a timely manner.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Operate various equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and power tools.
- Perform basic mathematical operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Quality Control Duties:
- Activate machinery to assess performance.
- Inspect used components for dimensional changes.
- Examine parts for imperfections in form and texture.
- Conduct thorough checks of work before reactivating machinery.
- Adjust functional components and control instruments as needed.
Safety Protocols:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards throughout the facility.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Report any work-related injuries to the supervisor promptly.
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma along with prior experience in machinery servicing and repair is required.
