Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the facilities manager to ensure all structures are sound, machinery is operational, and electrical systems are efficient and safe by planning and executing preventive maintenance schedules.
- Assist the maintenance manager in overseeing contracted mechanical maintenance services.
- Monitor work orders to minimize future operational issues by conducting inspections and notifying the maintenance manager of any discrepancies in contracted services.
- Maintain the functionality of machinery, PLCs, and mechanical systems by fulfilling preventive maintenance tasks on motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and production equipment.
- Follow operational diagrams, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Operate, diagnose, and repair plant systems and PLCs in accordance with established procedures.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on PLCs, including lubrication, cleaning, and filter replacements.
- Adhere to safety protocols, GMP, HACCP, and all relevant company policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members by following proper escalation procedures.
- Perform start-up inspections, including checking the interior of equipment prior to sanitation processes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in mechanical troubleshooting of production machinery, including conveyors, gearboxes, and motors.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
