About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team at Ryder in Frederick, MD. As a Senior Level Diesel Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining our truck fleet and ensuring the highest level of vehicle reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and basic diagnostics and repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer systems.
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Replace defective components as instructed and work unsupervised on most tasks.
  • Perform facility maintenance duties and interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints.
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
  • Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (ie, safety, DOT, MOT).
  • Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels and demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred.
  • Basic tools, required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred.
  • All other certification as required by location, required.
What We Offer
  • Average Weekly Pay: $1120.
  • Hourly Pay: $28.00 per hour.
  • Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700.
  • Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday Weekends OFF.
  • Hours: First Shift 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
