Job Title: Sous Chef

Join our culinary team at the Bohemian Hotel Savannah Riverfront as a Sous Chef, where you will play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Job Summary

The Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the culinary department, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This includes managing kitchen staff, maintaining inventory, and controlling food costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and kitchen operations.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure excellent service and food quality.
  • Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs to meet budgetary requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu items, specials, and promotions.
  • Participate in staff training and development programs to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a high-volume kitchen.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, with the ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a high level of attention to detail and quality control.
