Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Mentorship Program Coordinator. As a key member of our Guided Mentoring program, you will play a vital role in supporting high school youth in their mentorship journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Guided Mentoring team to engage and support high school mentors in the curriculum and practices of the program.
  • Help plan and facilitate lessons and activities that promote fun, play-based learning and help youth dream big.
  • Deliver programming through weekly school day classroom and after-school activities, as well as out-of-school adventure experiences.
  • Support high school youth in developing effective mentorship relationships with elementary-aged mentees.
  • Assist with planning and activities to maintain relationships and expand horizons.
Requirements
  • Commitment to the entire service term.
  • Commitment to the mission of AmeriCorps and DREAM.
  • Desire to enhance existing skills and develop new skills necessary for service.
  • Commitment to serve as a role model for youth.
  • A passion for supporting ongoing work around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • A dedicated personal, off-site space for work with reliable internet and necessary resources.
  • Ability to regularly meet in person with the team or service assignment.
  • Access to a reliable phone.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
  • College degree and/or post-secondary education certification or training.
  • 18+ years old with a clean driving record.
  • Youth one-on-one and group facilitation experience.
  • Interest and investment in youth development.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Commitment to holding unconditional positive regard for DREAM youth.
Benefits
  • A living stipend provided in biweekly payments, dependent on weekly hours commitment.
  • AmeriCorps members eligible for publicly-funded benefits, such as SNAP, child care assistance, Medicaid, and student loan deferment.
  • Segal Education Award upon completion of the service term.
  • Additional support from a DREAM AmeriCorps Director.
Work Environment

This position operates in multiple spaces, including indoor and outdoor environments with active children, public/field trip spaces, and occasional workplace environments for planning and meetings.

Physical demands include comfort working in outdoor environments, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.

Travel includes local travel during work hours, with occasional out-of-the-area and overnight travel expected.
