Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Mentorship Program Coordinator. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of high school youth by providing guidance, support, and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement mentorship programs for high school youth, focusing on building positive relationships and promoting academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with the Guided Mentoring team to plan and facilitate lessons and activities that are engaging, fun, and relevant to the needs of high school youth.
  • Provide one-on-one and group mentorship to high school youth, helping them to develop essential life skills and build confidence.
  • Work closely with school personnel and community partners to ensure the success of the mentorship program.
  • Contribute to the development of program materials, including curriculum and activity plans.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and program developments.
Requirements
  • Commitment to the mission of The Dream Program and a passion for working with high school youth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with youth, staff, and community partners.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance (preferred).
  • College degree and/or post-secondary education certification or training (preferred).
Benefits
  • A living stipend is provided to you in biweekly payments, dependent on your weekly hours commitment.
  • AmeriCorps members are also eligible for publicly-funded benefits, such as SNAP, child care assistance, Medicaid, and student loan deferment.
  • Upon completion of the service term, AmeriCorps members are eligible to receive the Segal Education Award, which can be used to pay education expenses or repay qualified student loans.
Work Environment

This position operates in multiple spaces, including indoor and outdoor environments with active children, within the school communities we serve, in public/field trip spaces in the local area, and occasionally in a workplace environment for planning and meetings.

The role also may at times utilize equipment characteristic of an outdoor and indoor youth day camp, such as pop-up shade canopies/tents, hand tools, activity supplies, food preparation equipment, storage spaces, and sports equipment/toys.

During the summer, conditions will be warm and activities will often be held outdoors.

The physical demands of this position require comfort working in outdoor environments, regardless of the weather, and the ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb.

The employee/member may occasionally lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee/member is regularly required to communicate with individuals who talk and hear.

The employee/member is regularly required to observe and comprehend using vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
