Job Summary/Purpose

The Operations Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a group of operations and maintenance personnel in a diverse, multi-skilled environment at a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) facility. The primary focus of this role is to manage plant operations and respond effectively to start-up and dispatch requests while directing operations and maintenance tasks during shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices in compliance with OSHA and Entergy Safety Processes, providing oversight for NERC and Environmental compliance.
  • Supervise hourly multi-craft employees during a rotating 12-hour shift.
  • Guarantee that all dispatch directives are fulfilled within operational parameters during the assigned shift.
  • Ensure timely execution of all required maintenance tasks according to the shift schedule.
  • Assist in budget/project development and maintain cost control measures.
  • Oversee contract management and contractor performance.
  • Lead the recruitment and training of high-performing Production Technicians, preparing them for safe and reliable operations during commissioning and commercial operation.
  • Own the complete program development and management of all processes associated with the newly constructed CCGT facility, including design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of programs using metrics and key results.
  • Lead and support a team of Production Technicians during pre-commercial commissioning activities, collaborating with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partners to uphold the highest operational standards.
  • Utilize lessons learned from previous projects to enhance operating procedures, training plans, and maintenance strategies.
  • Network with EPC partners and project teams to ensure commissioning and testing schedules are met.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance for troubleshooting and liaise with vendors and subject matter experts to enhance team and site performance.
  • Ensure all commissioning and testing documentation is received and stored according to records management policies.
  • Manage project and contract responsibilities, including scope development, execution, budget estimation, contractor oversight, cost tracking, and project closure.
Minimum Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Power Plant Operations/Maintenance.
  • Preferred: Experience with CCGT, Instrumentation & Controls, and Distributed Control Systems.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Unit Control Board operations.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in Combined Cycle Power Plants and control room operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong oral, written, and computer skills are essential. Proven ability to build effective teams through leadership and interpersonal skills.
