Job Summary/Purpose

The Operations Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a group of operations and maintenance staff in a dynamic, multi-skilled environment at a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) facility. This role focuses on managing plant operations and ensuring prompt responses to start-up and dispatch requests while directing operations and maintenance tasks during shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promotes safe working practices in compliance with OSHA and Entergy Safety Processes, ensuring adherence to NERC and Environmental regulations.
  • Provides direct oversight to hourly multi-craft personnel during a rotating 12-hour shift.
  • Ensures compliance with all dispatch directives within operational parameters during the assigned shift.
  • Guarantees that all scheduled maintenance tasks are executed as per the shift schedule.
  • Contributes to budget/project development and manages cost control measures.
  • Oversees contract management and contractor activities.
  • Responsible for recruiting high-performing Production Technicians and preparing them for safe and reliable operations during commissioning and at the plant's operational milestone.
  • Manages the complete program development and ownership of all processes associated with the newly constructed CCGT facility, including design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation using performance metrics.
  • Leads and supports a team of Production Technicians in pre-commercial commissioning activities, collaborating with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partners to uphold the highest operational standards.
  • Utilizes previous lessons learned to enhance operating procedures, training plans, and overall operational strategies.
  • Facilitates networking with EPC partners and project teams to align commissioning and testing schedules with resource requirements.
  • Provides leadership and technical guidance for troubleshooting and collaborates with vendors and subject matter experts to enhance team and site performance.
  • Ensures that all commissioning and testing documentation is properly managed and stored according to policy.
  • Manages project and contract responsibilities, including scope definition, execution, budget estimation, contractor oversight, cost tracking, and project closure.
Minimum Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Experience
  • 5+ years in Power Plant Operations/Maintenance.
  • Preferred: Experience with CCGT, Instrumentation & Controls, and Distributed Control Systems.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Unit Control Board operations.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in Combined Cycle Power Plants and control room operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are essential. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are crucial for team building.
