About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at HSS Stamford. As a key member of our front-line staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide top-notch customer service to all patients, visitors, and customers
  • Prioritize patient flow to ensure a smooth and efficient experience
  • Verify insurance and obtain benefits to ensure accurate billing
  • Triage phone calls and schedule appointments in a timely manner
  • Respond to patient, visitor, and customer inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
  • Obtain patient demographics, personal information, and medical history by interviewing patients
  • Collect payments and perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), may include specialized or vocational courses
  • 0-1 years in a healthcare or related customer service field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in office automated tools: email, outlook, and data entry
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of healthcare and health insurance
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
