Key Responsibilities
  • Provide genetics education to high-risk patients, empowering them to take control of their health.
  • Coordinate registration and scheduling for genetic testing, ensuring seamless patient flow.
  • Collect specimens for genetic testing, maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, radiologists, pathologists, and referring physicians, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations, streamlining the patient journey.
  • Maintain a compassionate and professional demeanor, even in fast-paced environments.
  • Distribute positive genetic test results to referring physicians, facilitating informed decision-making.
Requirements
  • 1 year of certified medical assistant experience in imaging, with a strong preference for those with genetics education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
  • Technical skills, including proficiency in electronic medical records and scheduling systems.
