Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified individual to fulfill the role of Systems Engineer at the Journeyman to Senior level, providing support to PMA-281, the Strike Planning and Execution Systems Program Office.

Work Environment: On-Site

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement systems engineering methodologies to analyze, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) mission planning software and technical documentation for the Tomahawk missile system related to Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Foreign Disclosure Office (FDO) to ensure software and technical documentation is adequately sanitized and documented for FDO release approval to partner FMS nations.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather input and feedback for enhancing TMPC.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and document emerging requirements for TMPC.
  • Assess the implications of changes to TMPC system requirements and interfaces.
  • Participate in vendor technical interchange meetings and review vendor technical proposals.
  • Lead working groups to tackle engineering and technical challenges requiring alternative analyses.
  • Contribute to change management and configuration management processes and review boards.
  • Review vendor-generated MBSE models and assist in MBSE descriptions of the system.
  • Coordinate with testing and evaluation activities for TMPC software assessment.
  • Conduct technical risk management and tracking.
  • Provide technical insights and reviews for project plans, schedules, and roadmaps.
  • Support project planning and technical cost estimations.
  • Prepare reports, briefs, and progress reviews, presenting updates to Senior NAVAIR Leadership on status, metrics, and technical evaluations.
  • Assist with vendor tasking, guidance, and oversight in developing technical Statements of Work (SOWs), participating in Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Program Management Reviews (PMRs), and reviewing Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs).
  • Contribute to strategies for applying Agile development practices to TMPC FMS.
  • Engage in Agile software development processes, including backlog grooming, prioritization, sprint reviews, program increment reviews, and capability evaluations.
  • Advise and assist NAVAIR executives, managers, and supervisors in planning and implementing systems engineering and digital engineering policies and guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Software/Systems Engineering supporting DoD aircraft or weapon systems, encompassing design, development, integration, and system testing of computer hardware and software.
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel may be necessary for meetings or site visits, though it is rare.
