Position Overview

MAG Aerospace is in search of a dedicated Systems Security Engineer to deliver expert systems engineering assistance to a NAVAIR acquisition initiative. This role may also involve leading projects in the formulation of engineering protocols and controls. Your substantial background with NAVAIR SETR and technology acquisition methodologies will empower you to assess and scrutinize technological prerequisites and offerings.

This position requires on-site presence.

Top Secret Clearance is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Provide guidance to Program Managers and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads on technical issues related to Systems Security Engineering.
  • Oversee, direct, and summarize the evaluation of engineering needs, testing, and reporting throughout the lifecycle support of the comprehensive range of SSE disciplines, including Cybersecurity, Anti-Tamper, Software Assurance, Supply Chain Risk Management, and OPSEC.
  • Draft and review engineering documentation during the systems engineering/acquisition lifecycle of the platform, systems, or subsystems.
  • Facilitate and potentially lead program management meetings to discuss engineering and acquisition needs concerning Program Protection Planning (PPP) for Critical Program Information (CPI).
  • Act as a consultant and advisor for the program to various government, industry, and Department of Defense segments on System Security Engineering matters.
  • Engage in program and Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) and evaluate procurement specifications and data packages; assess T&E suitability/supportability documentation; and provide technical insights on Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and/or iterative upgrades.
  • Contribute to SOW/specification development for competitive procurement packages.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in business, management, development, and integration related to aircraft, weapons, and/or operations, with at least 3 years in the Naval Aviation systems engineering domain.
  • At least 2 years of recent experience in project budget preparation and SOW development.
  • Proficient in creating systems engineering documentation such as Anti-Tamper Plans, Test Plans, PMPs, SEMP/SAMPs, ICD, CDD, and CPD in line with the latest DoD 5000 series guidelines.
  • Capable of conducting evaluations of technical documentation, including prime contractor deliverables, system specifications, functional requirements documents, and mission planning documents.
  • Design experience related to aircraft in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hardware/Software Integration, or System Integration is required.
  • Demonstrated ability in planning, management, budgeting, and coordinating technical and contract requirements.
  • Familiarity with developing DoD acquisition and technical documentation to support anti-tamper initiatives and the capacity to perform technical analysis of anti-tamper capabilities.

Education

The minimum educational requirement is:

  • A Bachelor's degree in an engineering, technical, business, or management field.

Additional Qualifications

  • Possession of an active DoD Top Secret Clearance is essential.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
