Job Overview

BAE Systems is on the lookout for a skilled Senior Engineer to spearhead the implementation and oversight of the VH92-A Mission Communications System Digital Ecosystem strategy. The chosen candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio encompassing Digital Ecosystem System Engineering (DESE), Data Architecture and Analytics, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Capability Development, Software Development, Digital Transformation, and Process Development teams. This role is set within a dynamic organizational culture that fosters employee growth and high performance in a fast-paced environment, utilizing streamlined engineering and management policies.

This is a remarkable opportunity to influence the development and deployment of next-generation capabilities while providing direct support to a critical national security system throughout its engineering development, deployment, and sustainment phases. The selected individual will play a key role in shaping the quality and effectiveness of Risk, Issue, and Opportunity processes and deliverables, as well as other Program Management-related outputs across various directorates and functional areas.

The candidate will also be instrumental in educating and equipping government clients to acquire, operate, and maintain a comprehensive suite of communication systems, establishing themselves as a trusted mission partner within the innovative, digital engineering-driven Naval Air Warfare Center organization, which is dedicated to designing, building, testing, transitioning, and sustaining the world's safest and most effective communication systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive technical experience.
  • Understanding of program management principles, including cost, schedule, and performance assessment.
  • Experience in leading digital transformation initiatives and developing integrated DE toolsets.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering concepts, including architecture development and requirements management, or a willingness to learn Model-Based Systems Engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize work effectively.
  • Strong cognitive, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, with experience in briefing and reporting to executive-level leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Two years of experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Knowledge of Data Analytics, Data Science, or Data Engineering, or a willingness to learn about enterprise-wide integration of analytical toolsets.
  • Experience with software development and application integration, including Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition programs.
  • Proven experience leading successful teams in a high-tempo environment.
  • Experience in leading and facilitating multi-stakeholder groups.

The full-time salary range for this position is competitive and based on market pay structures.
