Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess health-related information provided by group applicants.
  • Convey underwriting requirements and decisions to sales teams.
  • Effectively use departmental underwriting software tools.
  • Evaluate rating software methodologies and propose enhancements.
  • Provide training to support staff on group underwriting procedures.
  • Monitor exception provisions that may have financial consequences.
  • Guide and mentor junior personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to insurance regulations.
  • Document departmental activities and create underwriting guidelines.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for underwriting.
  • Maintain organized departmental filing systems.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in health insurance underwriting is required.
  • Exceptional analytical and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Reliable high-speed internet access is necessary.
