RemX is seeking a skilled Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a dynamic pharmacy environment.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday: 3pm - 11:30pm with alternating weekends.
Contract Duration:
Initial engagement of 3+ months with potential for permanent placement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and ensure cleanliness of the Sterile Compounding area in compliance with USP 797 standards and state regulations under the guidance of a supervisor.
- Operate under the direct oversight of a Registered Pharmacist, accurately filling prescriptions and preparing sterile compounds while adhering to quality, service, and productivity standards.
- Possess knowledge regarding Long-Term Care and medications for high-risk pregnancies.
- Prepare and fill medication orders for residents in long-term care facilities.
- Handle the staging and preparation of medications for high-risk pregnant patients.
- Compound sterile medications and syringes in a Class 100 clean room, following directives from Pharmacists and supervisory staff.
- Assist in data entry and communicate with nursing homes for refill requests.
- Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of IV pumps and related equipment.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, answering calls, and stocking supplies in the IV department as directed.
- Collaborate with the Lead IV Technician to uphold a safe and clean working environment, including equipment checks for safety and calibration.
- Manage the replenishment and upkeep of Emergency Drug Kits (EDK) for Long-Term Care Facilities.
- Communicate effectively with Pharmacists or Supervisors regarding any operational concerns.
- Handle the shipping and tracking of medication packages through third-party logistics services.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience as an IV pharmacy technician preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Licenses/Certifications: Must meet state regulatory requirements.
