POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Manufacturing Financial Analyst is tasked with overseeing all facets of the cost accounting function within the manufacturing sector. This role is designed for a proactive and innovative thinker who excels in driving efficiency enhancements and strategic initiatives.

Additionally, this individual must possess strong communication skills to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership, continuously steering the organization towards its strategic objectives.

This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Finance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for the reporting, forecasting, and analysis of the manufacturing cost components of the profit and loss statement and balance sheet. This encompasses standard costs, variances, operating direct charges, and inventory management. Responsible for preparing relevant journal entries as part of the month-end closing process and reviewing results in IDEX's reporting software.

  • Coordinate cost management activities to ensure precise and timely product cost and inventory account information in compliance with corporate reporting standards. This includes calculations and balances for inventory reserves as mandated by U.S. GAAP and IDEX corporate policies.

  • Engage in the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of financial reports for both quarterly and monthly operational and business reviews.

  • Collaborate with planning and operations teams to accurately cost new products.

Support for Manufacturing Operations Includes:
  • Monitor, review, and analyze daily manufacturing activities, providing variance and root cause analysis for accurate and timely performance reporting.
  • Assist the manufacturing team in developing and implementing efficiency metrics.
  • Regularly review standards against current cost roll-ups to ensure the accuracy of cost data and provide feedback on product margin analysis.
  • Evaluate the accuracy of Bill of Materials (BOM) costing and communicate any discrepancies.
  • Conduct make-or-buy analyses for parts and assemblies.
  • Participate in productivity enhancement and lean manufacturing initiatives as needed.
  • Support inventory optimization efforts, including identifying and communicating excess and obsolete stock, evaluating root causes of front-end process drivers, and maintaining appropriate disposition policies and procedures.
  • Conduct annual reviews of material, labor, and burden standards, updating as necessary.
  • Lead the annual physical inventory count, ensuring the integrity of the counting process and results.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Experience with JDE ERP is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on cost accounting preferred.
  • At least 3 years of operational experience, particularly in inventory management.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in expressing professional opinions.

  • Self-motivated, focused, and capable of identifying needs and implementing solutions with minimal supervision.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and general accounting concepts.
  • Advanced Excel skills, particularly in financial modeling and analytical techniques.
  • PowerBI experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to streamline and automate complex processes.

TOTAL REWARDS
The compensation range for this position is between $74,000 and $111,000, depending on experience. This role may also be eligible for a performance-based bonus plan.
